Visiting Santa- It’s Never Too Late for a Great Tradition!

There weren’t many traditions around Christmas time while I was growing up, we had Christmas Eve tamales and woke up on Christmas morning with excitement. I always dreamed of having so many traditions and celebrations once I had children of my own, then reality hit. My Husband was deployed more often than not. If he wasn’t on a deployment far away, he was on a work-up trip preparing for deployments and that meant he was gone for weeks at a time. His Military career never gave us an opportunity to settle down and have some set traditions, so we did things as we could. Having premature babies with heart monitors also made for selective outings around people. These were all reasons why we were never able to see Santa every year. It took many years but we finally have one: Visiting Santa- It’s Never Too Late for a Great Tradition!

Visiting Santa is a Great Family Tradition

Visiting Santa is a Great Family Tradition

When I think back to my childhood, I can’t recall a time when we went to visit Santa, though I do remember amazing Christmases. My oldest child is now 24 since he was a little one, we have tried to visit Santa during the Holiday season.  As a Mom of 6 little ones and my Husband deployed 6 different times, it was extremely difficult to take the kids out during the Holidays, but when he was home; visiting Santa is something we did. Now, as our youngest is 12 and the oldest at home is 17, and Visiting Santa is a Great Family Tradition. [Read more…]

Hi!
Welcome to our little world!
My name is Lily, I am a Mommy to 6 kids; and wife to a US Navy Sailor of 15 years. We are a typical Family trying to live the American dream, and though my son’s Autism and my Husband’s PTSD and TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) sometimes try to dampen our mood; we try our hardest to push through it and keep on movin’!

I absolutely LOVE blogging, sharing our life, and our adventures; whether good or not so good.

Our Family went through what WE hope is the worst week ever a year and a half ago, and tragedies continued to hit our Family for a while.
In 4 days, our car was totaled, our house broken into, and our house caught on fire. We are literally having to start over from scratch.
