Different Versions of the 52 Week Money Challenge Printable

This Christmas I bought every present for our entire Family and friends with savings. Throughout the year, every time I got change from a purchase I put it aside. This is why I created these Three Different Versions of the 52 Week Money Challenge Printable.

Sharing the Lessons I Learned While Becoming a Caregiver

This post is made possible with support from AARP’s Disrupt Aging. All opinions are my own. I grew up helping my Mom care for my Grandparents, it was always something that just came natural. As I grew older I continued to do it and never thought that it was something out of the ordinary. It’s just what you do for Family, for your Parents, for your Grandparents. There was never a manual, a timeline, a list of expectations from both parties; age and caring just went hand-in-hand as time went on. Being raised in a Hispanic home and within the Hispanic culture, it’s expected to care for our elderly and our ill Family members. As time goes on the children become the caregivers and I am happy to be Sharing the Lessons I Learned While Becoming a Caregiver.

Introduction. Story. Inspiration. New Beginning. I want to take the time to say hello! Tell you a little bit of why I have been gone, why I came back, my story of surviving strokes (5), mental health illness, chronic health illnesses; and why I am back and ready to take my entire life back!

Introduction. Story. Inspiration. New Beginning.

It has been a long time since I have sat down and written a post. A real honest to goodness post from my brain to the keyboard.  I have wanted to sit down so many times and just say “hello” like I used to, but I never had the time. I was always under a deadline, exhausted, busy, or mentally, physically and emotionally unable to write. So I decided that today would be the day. Today, no matter how busy I was; I was going to say hello. I am going to tell you about my Introduction. Story. Inspiration. New Beginning. [Read more…]

My Husband Doesn’t Always Feel He Is “Doin’ Good”. Truth Is: He Is Amazing!

My Husband Doesn’t Always Feel He Is “Doin’ Good”. Truth Is: He Is Amazing!  I know first hand what it feels like when you think you are not “Doin’ Good” as a parent.  As a Mom of 6, it’s something that I battle with often; but I see that my Husband also has that problem; or fear. In his eyes, because we live paycheck to paycheck at times, it’s a reflection of him not doing his best for us.  Truth of the matter is, he does an amazing job!

Looking for Something Specific?

Hi!
Welcome to our little world!
My name is Lily, I am a Mommy to 6 kids; and wife to a US Navy Sailor of 15 years. We are a typical Family trying to live the American dream, and though my son’s Autism and my Husband’s PTSD and TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) sometimes try to dampen our mood; we try our hardest to push through it and keep on movin’!

I absolutely LOVE blogging, sharing our life, and our adventures; whether good or not so good.

Our Family went through what WE hope is the worst week ever a year and a half ago, and tragedies continued to hit our Family for a while.
In 4 days, our car was totaled, our house broken into, and our house caught on fire. We are literally having to start over from scratch.
