Different Versions of the 52 Week Money Challenge Printable

This Christmas I bought every present for our entire Family and friends with savings. Throughout the year, every time I got change from a purchase I put it aside. I never looked at it, never counted it, and I really hoped it would be enough. I decided to do things a little different for the new year, a little more structure and accountability. This is why I created these Three Different Versions of the 52 Week Money Challenge Printable.

Having a 529 College Savings Program is the Best Decision for our Kids

Having a 529 college Savings Program is the Best Decision for our Kids

Last December I shared with you our exciting new journey into the world of college savings: “Why a 529 College Savings Plan is a Great Choice…” and I am happy to share a recap with you now.  I am so happy to have partnered with NY 529 Direct to not only learn, but also share with our readers what we learned. I learned that Having a 529 college Savings Program is the Best Decision for our Kids.

Find out how I learned that Having a 529 college Savings Program is the Best Decision for our Kids. As a Mom of a College student and 3 more in middle and high School, this savings account is a great start for that college savings thought you have in the back of your mind. It is perfect for adding a link to your graduations parties for people to gift you directly.

What is a 529 college savings plan?

It’s a type of investment account you can use for higher-education savings. 529 plans are usually sponsored by states.

As a Mom of 6 kids, College is something I always had present in my mind, but as the two older kids decided to not attend College, my Husband and I “had time” to save later. Or so we thought! [Read more…]

Feeling Financially Empowered with Prudential #Prupárate

Feeling Financially Empowered with Prudential #Prupárate

This is part of a sponsored collaboration with Prudential and DiMe Media. However, all opinions expressed are my own.

Feeling Financially Empowered with Prudential #Prupárate

This is the begining of my journey as a Prudential Ambassador and I want to share with you how I am Feeling Financially Empowered with Prudential #Prupárate.  As I was growing up, I remember the issue of money being a taboo, something you just didn’t speak about.  No one ever spoke about how much they made, savings, or future plans.  I remember very few times in my life where we went to a bank, and when I asked questions I was told to mind my business.

Feeling Financially Empowered with Prudential #Prupárate
As I got jobs since I was 14, all my money went towards helping my Mom. I never had an allowance, nor a savings account. When I moved out at 23 I got a job, I would spend my money as I got it, and my budget limit was when my account was at zero.
After getting Married the pattern continued, and as a Military Family the income was not only [Read more…]

Why a 529 College Savings Plan is a Great Choice...

I want to share with you the things I learned about Why a 529 College Savings Plan is a Great Choice…
and for our Children’s education savings plan; it’s our only choice from now on.

Why a 529 College Savings Plan is a Great Choice...

Learning how to manage money is a very important skill, a skill that not every child learns at school.
From a young age, all of my children have been taught about money management. They have earned money for great grades, doing extra tasks around the house, selling baked goods & lemonade stands, helping neighbors with chores, and then we have sat down together and separated that money into four piles [Read more…]

Looking for Something Specific?

Hi!
Welcome to our little world!
My name is Lily, I am a Mommy to 6 kids; and wife to a US Navy Sailor of 15 years. We are a typical Family trying to live the American dream, and though my son’s Autism and my Husband’s PTSD and TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) sometimes try to dampen our mood; we try our hardest to push through it and keep on movin’!

I absolutely LOVE blogging, sharing our life, and our adventures; whether good or not so good.

Our Family went through what WE hope is the worst week ever a year and a half ago, and tragedies continued to hit our Family for a while.
In 4 days, our car was totaled, our house broken into, and our house caught on fire. We are literally having to start over from scratch.
