I am so excited to share this recipe with you because it’s SO easy! With the Holiday season quickly approaching, my time seems to be more and more stretched. I’ve found it difficult to make everything I love if I don’t begin very early or find super easy and fast recipes. The teenagers love to help come up with ideas and especially love to help execute these blog posts. They helped compose this post from typing to editing the photos; it was their first full project. We hope you enjoy this post: How to Make Mickey Snowman Cake pops! [Read more…]

Finding MY Inspiration In A Movie About So Much More Than Running, About My Culture #MiInspiracion

Finding MY Inspiration In A Movie About So Much More Than Running, About My Culture #MiInspiracion

Last week I was sent a screening copy of the “McFarland USA” movie, my Family watched it; and I do have to say that I was completely surprised by it and it’s after effects. As a tomboy I am a big fan of sports related movies, especially when they are based on a true story. I knew this movie was based on a true story, but I didn’t really know much more about it.  The fact that I am Mexican and the movie is based on Mexican families had not made me more excited to watch it; despite what my friends thought (which was that I would want to watch this movie because it was about Mexican families living in California (hello! I am Mexican, and my family lives in California))

My Husband, our kids, and myself were watching it together. Like with many “popular” movies, I was apprehensive about watching it, trying not to love it at first glance because I wanted to give it a full look before forming my opinion. After the first 5 minutes, there was a scene that caught me [Read more…]

Adventuresof a Military Family of 8.
So, when I was offered the chance to write a post about OUR Hero: Disney’s Planes Fire & Rescue: Celebrating our Everyday Heroes #MiHeroeFavorito; it is no surprise that I jumped at the opportunity.Seriously, writing about OUR own Hero, my Husband, who served over 15 years in the US Navy, who went on 5 Deployments, who spent a Christmas in Afghanistan during an 8 month deployment, who sacrificed SO much for us; it was a no brainer…

Excited about the new Winnie The Pooh movie”? our review… #Winniethepooh

by Lily @militaryfamof8

On Thursday our Family was invited to an advanced screening of the “Winnie The Pooh” movie, and let me tell you I was SO excited to go!!!

My love for Winnie the Pooh and all things yellow and red has been around since before my 1st child was born, 18 years ago 😉   The poor boy had no choice but to fall in love with Winnie the Pooh as his entire room was decorated with anything and everything “Pooh” I could find.  Since then all my children after inherited his movies, and toys.  It’s a Family affair 😉

Looking for Something Specific?

Hi!
Welcome to our little world!
My name is Lily, I am a Mommy to 6 kids; and wife to a US Navy Sailor of 15 years. We are a typical Family trying to live the American dream, and though my son’s Autism and my Husband’s PTSD and TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) sometimes try to dampen our mood; we try our hardest to push through it and keep on movin’!

I absolutely LOVE blogging, sharing our life, and our adventures; whether good or not so good.

Our Family went through what WE hope is the worst week ever a year and a half ago, and tragedies continued to hit our Family for a while.
In 4 days, our car was totaled, our house broken into, and our house caught on fire. We are literally having to start over from scratch.
