My Husband is an IT Specialist and if you include his previous Military career, you can imagine how precise and careful he is with his work and all of our wireless networks.
At any given time we have every electronic in our home being used, like:

• Amazon Firestick
• Heater & A/C Unit

In addition to all of that, we have always freely shared our password with all of the kids friends and visitors in the past.

This was definitely a wake up call and it helped that the kids could see for themselves so they could understand the dangers of our home network being hacked.
