Being New-Car Smart with Kelley Blue Book #YouAutoKnowHispz

Being New-Car Smart with Kelley Blue Book #YouAutoKnowHispz Learn how to make the best decisions when buying a new or used car.

Buying a new or pre-owned car is a huge deal for everyone, and yet; not everyone goes into this adventure with as much information as we can find. As a 41 year old Mom of 6, we have been through our share of new and used cars, and the only thing I ever walked into a dealership with was a check and a need for a vehicle.
Some were bad purchases, some were vanity purchases, not all were good investments.

Did you know your car is an investment?

While at the Hispanicize conference last month, I was invited to attend a Kelley Blue Book Car Buying Boot Camp and it was definitely eye opening!
We learned so many things, things that I wanted to share with my readers because I saw the importance in them.

Fact:

Sticker price isn’t always the most important price… #YouAutoKnowHispz #Hispanicize #Hispz17 pic.twitter.com/2jIcuS1KTO

Look for the hashtag #YouAutoKnowHispz on Twitter and you will see all of our tweets during and after the boot camp. There were many questions being asked to the car experts behind the social media channels, and they were answering all of our questions in real time, it was very informative and helpful.

Important information to know:

  • Consumer Reviews & Ratings-
Kelley Blue Book has one of the largest databases of consumer vehicle reviews for third-party sites.
  • 5-Year Cost to Own information-
Everyone knows that negotiating a good price on a new car can save you hundreds or even thousands of dollars, but fewer car shoppers realize they can save even more simply by choosing the right vehicle to begin with. Similar cars with similar sticker prices can vary in their costs over the first five years of ownership, so it is important to compare overall costs to ensure you’ve made a smart choice that holds up in the big picture.
  • Price Advisor-
Find what others are paying for the same vehicle in your local area.

  • Editorial Reviews and 10 Best Lists-
From segment buyer’s guides and comparison tests to 10 best lists, KBB.com’s award-winning editorial team can help you decide which new car is right for you. Narrow your shopping list with Kelley Blue Book’s recent award winners and Editorial top picks based on what is important to you (e.g. Family Cars, 10 Coolest Cars, 10 Best SUVs Under $25,000 and more).

I hope you have found this post helpful, and have found Kelley Blue Book to be more than a price comparing book (as many of us thought); it’s so much more!
Please feel free to share any questions that you have with the Social media team on Twitter, or Facebook; or leave them here and I will try my best to get them answered for you!

Very informative, it’s important when negotiating for such an important purchase to have the most information available like Carfax. Some dealers resell totaled out cars without informing buyers and it never rides right. Nothing worse than a lemon! Tfs!

Hi!
Welcome to our little world!
My name is Lily, I am a Mommy to 6 kids; and wife to a US Navy Sailor of 15 years. We are a typical Family trying to live the American dream, and though my son’s Autism and my Husband’s PTSD and TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) sometimes try to dampen our mood; we try our hardest to push through it and keep on movin’!

I absolutely LOVE blogging, sharing our life, and our adventures; whether good or not so good.

Our Family went through what WE hope is the worst week ever a year and a half ago, and tragedies continued to hit our Family for a while.
In 4 days, our car was totaled, our house broken into, and our house caught on fire. We are literally having to start over from scratch.
