Reasons to Take a Las Vegas Family Vacation

Reasons to Take a Las Vegas Family Vacation- Vegas night scene

Vegas may not be the first thought for your family vacation. Typically, Las Vegas travelers think of adult fun when heading to “Sin City”. However, Vegas has so many family-friendly hotels and attractions. There are so many reasons to take a Las Vegas family vacation!

Reasons to Take a Las Vegas Family Vacation

Find adventure in the Marvel universe.

Reasons to Take a Las Vegas Family Vacation- Treasure Island Avengers Station

Many hotels and casinos have kids in mind when it comes to entertainment! At Treasure Island, your family will delight in the Marvel Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. Take an interactive journey through the Marvel universe while you check out exclusive costumes and artifacts. The experience is also enhanced by an app available on smartphones or rentable devices.

Take in a free fountain show.

Reasons to Take a Las Vegas Family Vacation- Bellagio Fountain Show

The Bellagio hosts one of the most beautiful attractions on the Strip with daily and nightly fountain shows choreographed to music. More than one thousand fountains shoot as high as 460 feet in the air in this 1,000 feet display. Pop music, Broadway tunes, and other fan favorites accompany this family-friendly show. Shows run every 30 minutes during day hours and every 15 minutes at night.

Discover learning, laughter, and fun in a museum just for kids.

Discovery Children’s Museum is a true delight for your kids, but you will experience so much joy watching them learn and play in the 58,000 square foot museum. Young and old will love climbing the 70-foot Summit with sliding and climbing structures and interactive science components. Young at Art features Creative Stations for kids to explore their artistic sides through painting, making puzzles, and more! There are seven other permanent exhibits at the museum that will make your Vegas vacation one of education and family fun!

Go to the circus!

Reasons to Take a Las Vegas Family Vacation

Starting at 11 a.m. daily, you can see the world’s largest permanent circus at Circus, Circus. Acts perform daily at the Carnival Midway. Admission is free! See acrobats, jugglers, aerialists, and clowns in this one-of-a-kind Vegas spectacle! The hotel also features rides and games for the whole family. (Additional costs apply.)

Witness the magic!

Mac is an award-winning magician who focuses on education and children with his Magical Literacy Tour when he’s not appearing on late night shows or performing in his highly rated Vegas act.

Natural Wonders!

Red Rock Canyon

Reasons to Take a Las Vegas Family Vacation

Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area presents awe-inspiring views most wouldn’t expect to see near a major metropolitan city. In contrast to the bright lights and hype of the Strip, Red Rock offers desert beauty, towering red cliffs and abundant wildlife. There are many more Natural wonders on the Las Vegas website, see for yourself and get excited for your next trip!

Fremont Street!

Reasons to take a Las Vegas Family vacation
It needs no introduction, but Fremont Street is definitely a “must visit” spot of any Las Vegas trip. The iconic world’s largest video screen is nothing short of amazing.

Vegas Experience

Vegas Experience is the best part about Fremont Street if you ask my kids, the SlotZilla, is definitely an adventure to try!

Dine With Knights!

Reasons to Take a Las Vegas Family Vacation

Visit The Excalibur Hotel and Casino and enjoy our favorite show!
Tournament of Kings is Las Vegas’ ultimate dinner and a show experience. Adapted from the tale of King Arthur, this live-action production takes place in a 900-seat theater-in-the-round arena and immerses the audience in a tale of valor and treachery. Valiant knights ride mighty steeds and prove their chivalry among special effects and pyrotechnics. While knights fight, guests feast on a hearty three-course meal using the original utensil – their hands. Tournament of Kings is an epic portrayal of centuries past, and it’s all in the name of honor, country, and of course, food.

My son is begging to go to Las Vegas because he wants to go on the zip line. I have never been to Vegas but I’m glad there is more than one thing to do with the child that has nothing to do with the casino.

I’ve taken my family to Vegas. There are some things to do with them. The shark tank and white tigers and definitely the fountains. Some other Vegas shows can be kid appropriate too, but you do have to keep your eye out for a lot of the hidden inappropriate things.

I was skeptical when my in laws wanted to take the kids to Las Vegas. They did see some things that were “inappropriate” but the fun they had and being able to see buildings that are larger than life was really cool for them. They did like Freemont street.

My kids are grown and, I’ll be honest, I never thought of Vegas as anything other than a party destination. I didn’t realize there was so much family friendly stuff!

I’ve been trying to convince my husband that there are things to do in Vegas that are suitable for a family. I’m going to have to show him this!

You’re right! I really wouldn’t think of Vegas as a “Family” destination. However, I can see that there is a ton to do and see for a family!

I honestly don’t need reasons but these are all awesome. I think Las Vegas is not just a place for adults, it can be a place for families as well, if you know where to look.

Hi!
Welcome to our little world!
My name is Lily, I am a Mommy to 6 kids; and wife to a US Navy Sailor of 15 years. We are a typical Family trying to live the American dream, and though my son’s Autism and my Husband’s PTSD and TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) sometimes try to dampen our mood; we try our hardest to push through it and keep on movin’!

I absolutely LOVE blogging, sharing our life, and our adventures; whether good or not so good.

Our Family went through what WE hope is the worst week ever a year and a half ago, and tragedies continued to hit our Family for a while.
In 4 days, our car was totaled, our house broken into, and our house caught on fire. We are literally having to start over from scratch.
