A Mother's Lifeline- Amwell Medical Services

As a Mom of 6 kids, time is something I am always short of, and of course it’s even worst when the kids are sick. I don’t know about your Family, but in mine; when one kid gets sick they all follow suit. This is why I truly believe in the title of my post: A Mother’s Lifeline- Amwell Medical Services

I remember when they were very little, I used to panic all the time and rush to the emergency rooms with all 6 of my kids, oh the memories of having all the kids miserable for no reason. This is why I am so happy to be a part of an ongoing partnership with Amwell because I get to share about a company that I am passionate about and that I truly value. I have personally used and rely on Amwell’s online services to help me when one or all of my kids are feeling ill.

What are Amwell Medical Services?

Amwell is the nation’s largest telehealth company, connecting users with board-certified, licensed doctors for immediate and live, online visits—day or night, on either mobile or desktop. Some general conditions our doctors encounter include: minor illnesses and injuries, general health and wellness concerns, prescription refills, and chronic condition management.  We employ primary care and specialist physicians, as well as licensed behavioral therapists and registered dietitians, to meet our patients’ health and wellness needs.

Amwell gives me the ability to be able to have my children “seen” by a professional and all from the comfort of my own couch. I can cuddle my little ones, and get answers to my urgent questions at the same time.
Does that not sound like an amazing alternative to the other options?

With Amwell’s online medical teams, I can have a consultation for any type of ailment or illness, as well as the all too frequent daredevil stunt gone wrong by one of my kids. As my previous post showed, they also offer lactation consultations for the Mother’s most important questions.

  1. I love how online medical services are becoming accessible now! Sometimes you just don’t have the ability to visit a practice, especially late at night! And something like this, especially for mothers, would be essential

  2. I really need this service! I have an eye injury which causes me to get “pink eye” often and it takes SO LONG to get to the doctors office, wait in the waiting room, wait in the room and then have them write me the same old prescription. I cant wait to use amwell and save TONS of time.

  3. Amwell sounds like a great way to see a Doctor. Sometimes I can not get an appointment for weeks at my family Doctor. I will have to give this a try.

  4. Amwell is such an amazing service. I know there are so many times that I have not felt well and wanted to do a doctor’s visit.

  5. I am a working mom, and find it challenging to coordinate time away from work, with my kids pulled out of school, and have wanted an option like this. Thanks for sharing!

  6. This is what I love about technology. A good way to immediately address a sickness and no need to go to hospital. Such very helpful for those who are very far or can’t carry and take their kids immediately to the hospital or clinics.

  7. This is awesome! I used to work as a RN in an Emergency Room and I cannot even begin to count how many times I saw kids brought in for non-emergencies. Services like this can truly help ease the burden of emergency room services so we can treat real emergencies more efficiently.

  8. When my son was very poor off with an ear infection we used this service. I didn’t want to drag him into the office when we were pretty certain that was what was wrong. They helped up quickly and got the medication he needed without all the hassle.

  9. A mom’s job never ends – we need our mom ALWAYS no matter how old we are, but especially when we get sick. It’s important to know that you have a good medical service that you can trust and rely on these days, especially with everything that’s going on in the world and I am glad you found that one.

  10. Amwell sounds brilliant, especially since it can sometimes take hours at the hospitals or days to get an appointment at the GP. So wonderful that a seasoned professional can give you peace of mind online x

  11. These sort of things are so good when it comes to piece of mine. You can rest in the knowledge that everything will be okay without having to rush to the doctors surgery x

  12. Such a great service for those who need it. We don’t have anything like that here in Canada that I can think of. We do however have doctors who make house visits if you are too sick to leave home. Thankfully all our medical care is covered by our health care system.

  13. What a great idea, especially for a busy parent who doesn’t always have time to pack up all the troops and head out to the doctor’s office. Are you able to get prescriptions through this service as well?

  14. Wow! That must be lots of work and worry if one of your little ones gets sick, that’s a great service to be able to have a consultation from home! Oh the days of pretending we were daredevils climbing and jumping out of trees and scaling climbing frames… and the bumps and injuries that came from them!

  15. This is an interesting and useful service, especially for moms like you, with many children. It’s great that you can simply connect with a doctor on your tablet and don’t have to go to the hospital, where you risk coming back with other viruses.

  16. Being able to have this service to quickly call in a time of need is very necessary in today’s world. It is good to know that a service like this exists.

  17. This is an awesome resource. I have had so many questions in the two years since becoming a mom. Having doctors on call for me would be helpful!

  18. I like the availability of these services. I have yet to use one, because most of the stuff I need answers for require actually going in, but this is great.

  19. This sounds like a really useful idea for busy mums. Totally agree about panicking when they are little. I was forever doing this with my two. Still do!

  20. What a great idea this is. Amwell seems like a life saver and takes the trauma and panic away from unexpected illness in children especially those that develop suddenly overnight where the parent is in a panic etc. I wish this service had been around when my kids were small.

  21. what an exellent service! Good to know all the option aout there especially if you are a busy mom of 6! wow!lucky you!

  22. Does insurance cover this? I wish it did because not all families can afford separate “insurance” but that being said, if it is equal to co pay, definitely is worth it!

  23. This is the first time I’ve heard of Amwell and it seems like such a wonderful service! When I’m sick, the thought of mobilizing to even make it to the doctor’s office can be daunting. Especially when it’s not a life and death emergency and nobody is bleeding. I’ll definitely be looking into this service further! x
