Welcome to Wordless (or NOT so wordless) Wednesday,

I have missed visiting and being visited ;)…

Her 13th Birthday!!!!
Out of 6 kids, I was given 2 girls, and although the majority of their lives they have been a bit “un-girly”, for her 13th Birthday, my NEW Teenager wanted to dress like a girl for School 😉

We all made such a huge hype about her 13th Birthday coming up, she was SO excited, AND THEN?
Nothing
happened!

Her best friend was grounded so she wasn’t able to come over for a hug and some cake, money was tight so we couldn’t go out to celebrate like I would have wanted too, and the worst part was that EVERYONE forgot her Birthday!!!

No one called her, she kept checking her phone every few minutes hoping she missed a text, nothing.  Finally at 11:30p.m I asked my MIL why she didn’t call or text her Granddaughter.  She forgot!  She immediately called everyone and suddenly my baby’s phone was ringing like crazy.  Although she was happy they finally called, I can tell she was hurt, I mean it’s not everyday a girl finally becomes a TEEN!!! 😉

So to make her smile, because what kind of Mommy would I be if I didn’t make her smile?  I ran to the grocery store, bought her an adorable cake that looked like a rose bouquet, and we sang her Happy Birthday… again 😉

As she was getting ready to pose for a picture of her biting her cake, her baby brother ran under her and shoved the cake into her face!  We all looked in shock, I guess we were waiting and fearing for that teen scream fest…
suddenly she bursts out laughing and next thing I know, there is an all out cake war in my dining room!!!  There is no way I could have gotten mad after the crappy day she had, and as the photographer, I was spared from the battle 😉

The outcome?!
An unforgettable 13th Birthday!!!!

Awww! I’m so glad that in the end she had an unforgettable birthday! I’m simultaenously looking forward to and dreading the day Princess Nagger becomes a teen – she just became an official tween on her last birthday. 🙂 Hopefully her little brother won’t smush her cake in her face – though it turning into a cake war and lots of laughter isn’t a bad thing! 😉

Oh Lily! I can imagine how hard that must’ve been on your mama heart. I would’ve been so upset. I’m SO glad the rest of the night went well. =) Birthdays don’t always go the way we hope. My son’s 13th last year wasn’t what I’d hoped for either. Unfortunately, that was a fail on my part. =/ Thanks for coming by the other day! <3

What a beautiful young lady. You are now the Mom of a Tween. I suppose you are thinking where did the time go? They grow up so fast but to us mothers they are always our little kids.

Hi!
Welcome to our little world!
My name is Lily, I am a Mommy to 6 kids; and wife to a US Navy Sailor of 15 years. We are a typical Family trying to live the American dream, and though my son’s Autism and my Husband’s PTSD and TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) sometimes try to dampen our mood; we try our hardest to push through it and keep on movin’!

I absolutely LOVE blogging, sharing our life, and our adventures; whether good or not so good.

Our Family went through what WE hope is the worst week ever a year and a half ago, and tragedies continued to hit our Family for a while.
In 4 days, our car was totaled, our house broken into, and our house caught on fire. We are literally having to start over from scratch.
